Nikolaos Mellios is Chief Scientific Officer and Cofounder of Circular Genomics. He is a leading-expert in circRNAs and brain disorders. He previously served as associate professor with tenure in the University of New Mexico Department of Neurosciences, where he led the research on the role of circular RNAs in the control of molecular networks related to psychiatric and neurological disorders. Before his time at the University of New Mexico, Dr. Mellios was previously a postdoctoral researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology working on pioneering RNA neuroscience research. He has a PhD in Neurosciences from the University of Massachusetts School of Medicine and an MD from the University of Athens Medical School.
